• rschuetz: last week, meta glasses discussion
  • came up with poster to make banning people from pointing cameras at other people, recording or not
  • everyone is likely on board with this
  • as long as it's consentual, it's fine
  • staff should tell people about this

operations

• lafer: will tell opstaff about new policy on cameras
• elenah: stapler very good
  • some people get scared but overall very good
  • finwan: placed PR for second one
• elenah: seemingly many printer things (i.e. fading), so will look at
• elenah: made changes to database index for printing, checking quota went from 5s -> 300ms
  • many ways to overhaul things in the future, but not worth currently

design

• angelawuuski: started working on CD design
  • don't know what to put on, will send mockup in discord

rebuild

• elenah: working on printing changes
  • will be ready for CUPS update (printing software update)
    • making sure our current system is compatible with that
    • using IPP rather than PPD
    • many issues with firefox
      • worst case may need to change to chromium
    • OCF enforcer will run as daemon besides CUPS process
  • also improved printing notifications on desktop
    • cosmic limits normal applications to 5s, need to get around that
    • may switch to separate process that runs notifications
      • will also allow for popups to ensure notifications are actually seen
• rschuetz: switch default search engine to starpage/duckduckgo/ecosia/whatever
